In a central yet peaceful area of Venice, within the Cannaregio district (takes its name from the Canal Regio which links the Grand Canal to Laguna), the heart of authentic Venice, the apartment is close to Cà d'Oro, a renowned palace in Venice which looks over the Grand Canal, seen as one of the prime examples of Gothic pieces in Venice currently assigned to the museum. Its name was taken from the fact that, originally, some parts of the façade were covered in gold.It takes just 5 minutes from the apartment to get to the Rialto Bridge, the extremely lively commercial hub of Venice, with the characteristic gold and souvenir shops nestled amongst the arches, and the bustling fruit and vegetable and fish market. Piazza San Marco is just a 10-minute pleasant walk away, passing lanes and the Venetian squares, where both shops and boutiques can be found for high-end and everyday shopping. Piazza San Marco, a consistent symbol of faith and once, the power of the Serenissima (ancient Republic of Venice), it never fails to evoke emotion. The apartment is also close to some of the city's artistic and historic gems, those less well-known and less visited, although equally fascinating and which you should not miss out on visiting during your stay: the Casinò di Venezia, at Cà Vendramin Calergi, the most beautiful resident architecture in Venice of the 16th century, which also houses the Wagner Museum (the famous German composer who lived here and passed away in 1883); and the Church of Santa Maria dei Miracoli, a delightful Renaissance treasure trove boasting polychrome marble. Ca D’oro Canal View is 300 metres from the Cà d'Oro and Fondamenta Nuove steamboat stops. Take the steamboat, which leaves from the Cà d'Oro stop, along the Grand Canal, to arrive at Gallerie dell'Accademia (which houses the best art collection originating from Venice and Veneto), Peggy Guggenheim Collection and the Giardini della Biennale. Take the steamboat, which leaves from the Fondamenta Nuove stop, to arrive at the splendid islands of Laguna, Murano, Burano and Torcello.
